CUP*CUP
As an elaboration of my larger complex installation works, I periodically commit to working with more discrete objects, most fervently the ubiquitous “cup”, under the pretext of CUP*CUP pottery. I sense that it’s an attempt to re-familiarize myself with my affection of the ceramics vernacular that has developed throughout years. For me, the ceramic pot feels like a natural attraction. It brings to the forefront my interest in historical concessions, the craft narrative, and the sculptural dexterity of simple forms that resonate in my installations.
Much like my larger works, too, the pots that materialize from my studio are an audit of parts and imagery that I attempt to have emerge as an elegant whole.
